部落傳說
Deity Votong descended to teach human being farming

                  Sakidaya wisdom embodied

                  in spinning tops

In the distant ancient times, the people of Sakidaya did not

know very well how to farm. It was therefore not easy for them to
get food and they often suffered from hunger. The deity Votong saw

their suffering with compassion, and decided to go down and help
                                    the Sakidaya people.

Votong married a Sakidaya woman named Savak and lived
with her family. When the others were busy working, he spent the

whole day making tops instead of tending his wife's family field.
The tribe thought he was not productive and looked down on him.

His mother-in-law, Kurumi, even wanted to kick him out of the
                                    house, but he remained indifferent.

One day, he threw all the tops into the field, and a miracle
happened. The tops began to spin. Each top worked very hard

like a human being. They turned over the field, sowed, weeded
and harvested. They farmed in an orderly manner and with higher

efficiency than farmers. The tribe was astonished and asked Votong
for advice on farming techniques. Votong told them to work with

and learn from the tops. He also gave people many seeds, such as
rice, millet, etc., and taught them all the rituals and taboos about
the annual rituals. Since then, the Sakidaya have been able to grow

                                    millet and feed themselves.

After some time, when all the tribe learned farming techniques,
Votong thought he could return to heaven. He told his wife, "I will
take you up. Don't look back on our way. You will fall down the
