There was no chance for the tree to come back to life.

After the tree king was destroyed, an epidemic broke out in the
Shuishalian area, killing many Thao people and diminishing their

dominance. Afterwards, Japan took over and ruled Taiwan. The
Thao were forced to move to today's Ita Thao when a hydroelectric

power plant was to be built in Sun Moon Lake. Some of them
would leave the Shuishalian area to make a living. Thereafter, the

Thao tribe lost their dominance in Shuishalian.
