a Puyuma Girl and a Stag

wanted to see the stag's head and asked him to put it upright. She

then climbed up to a high place and jumped down, plunging her
body into the stag's antlers, and died instantly.

Her parents and the rest of the family were very shocked and
sad. Later, when they found many beautiful glass bead necklaces
among the things she left behind, they recalled seeing many

beautiful strings of glass beads hanging on the stag's antlers as

well. It was not until then that they came to realize that the girl and
the stag were lovers, and she killed herself for love. It was too late
though. There was nothing they coucould do to repair.
