force. The main reasons for not participating in the labor force were "old
age or physical or mental disabilities" (30.47%) and "studies or preparing
for further education" (27.92%), followed by "household duties" (26.99%),
"injury or poor health" (9.86%), and "want to work and ready to start
working at any time but not actively seeking employment" (0.84%).
VI. Re-employment
In 2024, 12.28% of indigenous people left their employment for a
period of time due to various factors, including marriage, childbirth,
household duties, caring for family members, injury, and retirement, before
becoming re-employed. The average time out of employment was 3.93
years.
VII. Enrollment in Labor Insurance
The participation of indigenous workers in labor insurance was a
major issue in June 2024. Excluding public servants, soldiers, farmers
(who were not engaged in any other work during this period), and
employers who were not actually engaged in any work, the number of
indigenous workers who were obliged (eligible) to participate in labor
insurance in June 2024 was 216,439. Among them, 83.47% participated in
labor insurance, while the remaining 16.53% either participated in farmers'
insurance, national pension insurance, or did not participate in any
insurance.
