3. Employment status: The employment status of indigenous people in
2019 was highest for those who were privately employed, at 78.73%;
this was followed by self-employed, at 11.46%; government-
employed, at 8.85%; employer, at 0.50%; and unpaid family worker,
at 0.46%. Of those employed by the government, 34.43% had formal
civil service appointment qualifications and 65.57% had no formal
civil service appointment qualifications.
4. Primary monthly earnings per person for gainfully employed
indigenous persons: The average primary monthly earnings per person
for gainfully employed indigenous persons in 2019 was NT$30,056.
Compared to the population as a whole, the average income of
gainfully employed indigenous people from their primary job was
NT$10,345 lower than the NT$40,401 for the population as a whole.
Observing the distribution of monthly income from primary jobs, it
was found that 48.34% of indigenous people in gainful employment
earned less than NT$30,000 per month, which was higher than the
32.25% of the general public who earned less than NT$30,000 per
month.
5. Atypical employment scenarios: the proportion of indigenous people
employed in atypical jobs in 2019 was 16.57%, down from 2018; the
proportion not in atypical jobs was 83.43%.
